About W5PAA

The Aeronautical Center Amateur Radio Club, Inc.’s mission is to offer its members a means of demonstrating and sharing their knowledge, skills, and experiences in amateur radio with others and provide emergency communications services to the community. This is accomplished through support of local and national amateur radio events and drills, conducting licensing workshops and training in emergency communications procedures. Some of these include the ARRL Field Day, the Rush Springs Annual Watermelon Festival, the OKC Memorial Marathon and Amateur Radio support during Preparedness Drills and Exercises conducted by local first-responder agencies.

The club call sign is “W5PAA” and operates several repeaters at 146.670, 146.760, 146.850, 146.925, 146.985, 444.100, 927.9125 and 927.4875, as well as a packet digipeater at 145.010, which extends the range of club members and other radio amateurs in the greater Oklahoma City area. We have added a D-Star/Analog repeater at 444.925+ PL 141.3 for amateurs to access D-Star reflectors, as well as for analog communications.

We also operate several repeaters under the callsign “KW5FAA” at 442.300, 444.400 and 444.850 with a 224.100 link repeater as part of our State Wide Amateur Net (SWAN).

Field Day operations are always the 4th weekend in June. We usually have separate stations setup on digital. CW, Phone and GOTA (Get on the Air) for those without a license.
